    PACU Manager

    Austin, Texas Permanent Day Shift

    The Opportunity

Austin, Texas has an immediate opening for a PACU Manager — a permanent, full-time leadership role inside a large acute care facility. This is a working manager position with genuine operational accountability. Day shift, no weekends, one opening available now.

You will own day-to-day PACU operations directly: staffing assignments, productivity targets, performance appraisals, departmental policy and procedures, budget participation, and process improvement. You will lead an 18.5 FTE team inside a high-volume acute and surgical environment. The scope is substantive, the schedule is stable, and the resources are there to do the job well.

The compensation package is competitive based on experience. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is available, and relocation assistance is offered for candidates coming from outside the Austin area. This is a permanent placement with a well-resourced health system that operates across multiple campuses in the region.

Candidates must hold a current RN license and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). ACLS and BLS are required. A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in OR or day surgery is required, along with demonstrated prior management experience. A PACU-specific background is strongly preferred.

    Why Austin?

Austin sits at the center of the Texas Hill Country, a city that has consistently ranked among the most livable metros in the country. Texas carries no state income tax, which makes a real difference on a healthcare leadership salary. The food scene is legitimate, the live music culture is woven into daily life, and the city has grown substantially without losing the distinct creative energy that defines it. Families find strong public and private school options spread across the metro, with neighborhoods that range from walkable urban cores to quieter suburban communities — all with solid commute access to the city center.

Outdoors, Austin punches well above its weight. The Greenbelt delivers trail running and natural swimming holes minutes from downtown. Lake Travis and Lake Austin are go-to spots for boating and paddleboarding on weekends. Barton Springs Pool operates year-round and draws everyone from serious swimmers to families looking for a weekend afternoon. For longer getaways, the Hill Country wine trails and state parks sit an easy drive to the west. Austin-Bergstrom International connects nonstop to most major hubs across the country. The climate runs warm with mild winters, and the overall pace — despite the city's growth — still carries enough Texas ease to feel like a place worth calling home.
