The Opportunity
This is a permanent OR Scrub Tech opportunity at a 585-bed Level I Trauma Center in Kansas City, Missouri. One opening is available for a Tier 2 candidate — someone who can step into the room and function as first scrub in at least three of four advanced specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, and Vascular Surgery. That combination of specialty depth on a standing permanent schedule is genuinely uncommon. If you have been building toward a career that reflects the full range of what you can do in an OR, this is a role worth taking seriously.
The schedule runs 3x12-hour night shifts with rotating weekends. An on-call requirement is in place, and candidates must live within 30 minutes of the facility. One position is open.
The organization offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical coverage with many services at no cost, a 401(k) with a 100% employer match on 3–9% of pay based on years of service, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, dental and vision options, education assistance, paid family leave, and an Employee Health Assistance Fund. Night, weekend, and on-call differentials are available. A colleague recognition program and full suite of supplemental coverage round out the package.
To be considered at the Tier 2 level, candidates must be graduates of an accredited CORT program with at least one year of OR Tech experience and must demonstrate first-scrub competency in a minimum of three specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, or Vascular Surgery. CST certification from the NBSTSA is preferred. BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required upon hire.
If you have the specialty breadth this role demands and are open to a permanent night position in Kansas City, apply now or reach out directly to schedule a confidential conversation.

The Package
Why Kansas City?
Kansas City sits at the geographic center of the country and offers a standard of living that a clinical salary can actually support. Housing costs run well below the national average, the metro is easy to move around, and the typical commute is short by major-market standards. Families find strong options across a range of suburban school districts on both the Missouri and Kansas sides of the state line, from walkable urban neighborhoods to quieter residential communities with direct highway access. Culturally, the city punches above its weight — the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, and a nationally recognized jazz heritage make for a cultural calendar that stays full year-round.
Outdoor recreation is close and genuinely varied. Swope Park gives residents one of the largest urban green spaces in the country, the Missouri River corridor offers trails and water access minutes from the city, and the Ozarks are within a comfortable drive when you want more. Kansas City's food culture is its own — world-class barbecue, a fast-growing restaurant scene, and a craft brewery landscape that has expanded significantly over the past decade. The Chiefs and the Royals keep the sports energy high year-round. For healthcare professionals relocating from higher cost-of-living markets, Kansas City is the kind of place that earns its reputation once you actually spend time there.
