The Opportunity
Operating room nursing demands a specific kind of clinician — technically sharp, adaptable under pressure, and comfortable owning their piece of a high-stakes environment. This opening delivers exactly that. A 585-plus bed acute care facility with a Level I Trauma Center, this is a high-volume surgical program where scrub and circulating experience is put to full use and the work is consequential every shift.
Days (7:00a–7:00p) and nights (7:00p–7:00a) are both available, with one permanent staff position open. Scheduling is posted four weeks in advance, giving you real predictability in your life outside work. A dedicated on-call person handles after-hours coverage — you are not carrying that burden on top of your regular shifts. Leadership is accessible and actively incorporates surgical team feedback into patient care and workflow decisions. Equipment investment is ongoing, including surgical instruments, devices, and patient positioning tools.
The benefits package is substantial: comprehensive medical with low or no-cost common services, dental, vision, 401(k) with a 100% match on up to 9% of pay based on years of service, employee stock purchase plan, tuition and certification assistance, paid family leave, fertility and adoption support, and a time-away-from-work program that covers short- and long-term disability. Compensation is competitive based on experience. Night and weekend shift differentials apply. Sign-on assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis.
To be considered, candidates need a minimum of one year of recent OR experience in a scrub and/or circulating role. Active RN licensure is required. Basic Life Support certification must be current or obtained within 30 days of start.
If this is the level of practice you have been building toward, apply now or reach out directly to schedule a confidential conversation.

The Package
Why Kansas City?
Kansas City, Missouri sits at the intersection of Midwestern practicality and genuine urban vitality. The metro is large enough to offer a full range of professional and cultural amenities — a nationally recognized food scene, a thriving arts corridor, professional sports, and a live music culture with deep historical roots — while still operating at a scale where traffic is manageable and neighborhoods feel connected. Cost of living sits meaningfully below the national average, and the housing market reflects it: median home prices well under what comparable metros command, with strong school districts and well-maintained neighborhoods within reach on a working professional's salary.
Outdoor access is a real draw here. The metro is threaded with parks and trail systems, including the Swope Park complex and the Blue River Corridor, and the broader region offers lake access within a short drive. Winters bring genuine cold snaps and occasional snow, summers are warm and active, and the seasons in between offer some of the most pleasant weather in the central U.S. Commutes average in the mid-twenties by minute, and the city continues to invest in its core — development along the riverfront, in the Crossroads Arts District, and across several established suburbs keeps the metro dynamic without feeling overbuilt. For clinicians who want meaningful career growth without the cost and congestion of coastal markets, Kansas City earns serious consideration.
