    Nursing Director Surgical Services

    Indio, California Permanent Day Shift

    The Opportunity

This is a permanent director-level opportunity for a surgical services leader ready to take on full organizational accountability in one of Southern California's growing healthcare markets. The Nursing Director of Surgical Services carries weight across the full scope of department leadership — staff recruitment and retention, performance evaluations, competency management, regulatory compliance, and active participation in the hospital's Performance Improvement program. If you are an OR-experienced nurse leader who wants a seat at the table, this is it.

One full-time permanent opening is available, based on-site in Indio, California.

This role comes with a comprehensive full benefits package. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate — if geography is the only thing standing between you and this position, it is worth the conversation.

To be considered, you will need an active California RN license, current BLS/CPR certification, and a minimum of five to seven years of progressive management experience in the OR. A BSN is the preferred educational foundation. Strong physician relations, regulatory fluency, and the operational discipline to hold a department to budget and quality standards are central to what this role demands. Basic computer proficiency is expected.

    Why Indio?

Indio sits at the eastern end of the Coachella Valley, where the Sonoran Desert meets over 300 days of sunshine per year. The city is close enough to Palm Springs for weekend dining and spa getaways, within reach of Joshua Tree National Park for hiking and climbing, and near the Salton Sea for boating and open water. The surrounding area has earned a global reputation as a festival destination, but day-to-day life here is notably calmer — neighborhoods are accessible, traffic is manageable, and the pace invites people who want space alongside proximity to culture.

For families, the region offers a range of schooling options, youth sports, and outdoor recreation that skews heavily toward the active lifestyle the desert climate enables year-round. Housing costs are substantially lower than coastal Southern California, and the commute profile inside the valley runs well below national averages. Los Angeles is roughly two hours west on I-10 — reachable for a day trip without becoming part of your weekly routine. The Coachella Valley is the kind of place that holds people. Once they arrive and settle in, most do not look to leave.
