Director Surgical Services

This is a Director of Surgical Services role with genuine scope. Twenty-three operating rooms. Sixty to eighty cases per day. Over 18,000 surgical cases annually. The service line covers adult and pediatric surgical, adult heart, pediatric congenital heart, orthopedics, neurosurgery, burn, trauma, and urology — and the pediatric congenital heart program is the only one in Nevada. You will report directly to the VP of Surgical Services and COO, with three direct manager reports and responsibility for 167 FTEs across OR, CVOR, anesthesia techs, endo, SPD, and EVS-OR. One opening, full-time days, no weekends.

The organization offers a competitive total compensation package that includes a performance incentive bonus program. Relocation assistance is available and considered on a case-by-case basis. The work schedule is consistent — days, Monday through Friday — so you keep your weekends. The surgical program runs one of the top regional outreach networks in the system, with more than 30 facility transfers daily and roughly 45 percent of all cases arriving through the emergency department. The clinical volume and program complexity here are not common.

Candidates must hold a current RN license and a BSN. An MSN is preferred. A minimum of one year of recent acute care Director of Surgical Services experience is required, along with at least three years of applicable experience in acute care surgical services. Strong leadership in staff development, quality outcomes, operational performance, and fiscal management is expected at this level.
