The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced surgical services leader to take on a high-profile director role at a major Level II Trauma Center in Central Florida. The department runs 15 operating rooms — 13 ORs and 2 CVORs — producing 650 to 700 cases per month across cardiovascular, trauma, orthopedic and spine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, and vascular service lines. The robotics program includes Mako and three DaVinci XI systems. This is a department built to perform at volume, and the infrastructure around it reflects that.
One permanent, full-time opening is available on a day shift schedule. You will oversee a team of 80 to 90 FTEs with four direct-report managers covering OR, SPD, Pre/Post, and Endo — and report directly into the Hospital COO. That reporting relationship is a clear signal of the strategic weight this role carries within the organization.
The benefits package is broad and well-funded. It includes comprehensive medical coverage with low or no out-of-pocket cost, a 401(k) with a 100% match on 3 to 9 percent of pay based on tenure, an employee stock purchase plan at 10 percent off, free telemedicine and AirMed medical transport, tuition and student loan assistance, dependent scholarships, and an Employee Health Assistance Fund that extends to full-time and part-time colleagues. Compensation is competitive based on experience, with a 17.5% director-level bonus at target and 150% upside potential. Relocation assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a minimum of two years of recent acute care Director of Surgical Services experience. Significant OR Manager experience in a large trauma center environment will also be considered. A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred. Strong background in budget management, staffing, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary leadership is expected.

The Package
Why Kissimmee?
Kissimmee, Florida sits at the heart of one of the fastest-growing regions in the Southeast — connected to everything Orlando offers while maintaining a character and cost of living that sets it apart. The city anchors Osceola County, a diverse and expanding community with a warm culture and year-round access to the outdoor lifestyle Central Florida is known for. Lake Tohopekaliga and the surrounding chain of lakes put fishing, boating, and paddling close at hand, and Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park offers open Florida wilderness for anyone who wants to get away from the metro noise.
For families, the case is practical as well as appealing. The region has seen real investment in schools and public infrastructure, and the housing market still delivers meaningful value compared to coastal markets in Tampa or South Florida. A drive to downtown Orlando or Orlando International Airport takes under 30 minutes from most of the city, making both professional and travel logistics straightforward. Florida's zero state income tax adds immediate take-home value at a senior leadership compensation level — a detail that matters at this career stage. Warm winters, lakefront neighborhoods, and a community that reflects genuine cultural diversity make Kissimmee a place people actively choose to put down roots, not simply a waypoint on the way to somewhere else.
