The Opportunity
A 380-plus-bed Level II Trauma Center in the Conejo Valley is recruiting a Director of Cardiovascular Services — a senior operational seat with full programmatic authority over one of the more robust cardiovascular service lines in the region. This is a full-time, days role with no weekend commitment, and it is open now. If you are currently directing a cardiovascular program and ready for a position with greater scope and visibility, this one warrants a serious look.
The scope is significant. You will lead all cardiovascular departments, manage capital and operational budgets, and work directly with the cardiovascular services medical director and facility administration to drive quality and strategic growth. The Cardiac Cath Lab Manager reports to this director. You report to the VP of Operations. The facility holds STEMI designation for both LA and Ventura Counties, Chest Pain Center accreditation, and Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center designation — maintaining those credentials is central to the role. Compensation is competitive based on experience, with a leadership bonus structure included.
To be considered, candidates must currently be serving in a director-level cardiovascular role and have led a program at a 300-plus-bed facility. A minimum of five years in cardiovascular services is required, with a preference for ten or more, and at least half of that time in cardiovascular leadership. Structural heart experience is a firm requirement — not a preference. A current California RN license or Radiologic Technologist certification through ARRT and the State of California is required. A college degree is required; a master's degree — MSN, MBA, or MHA — is strongly preferred.

The Package
Why Thousand Oaks?
Thousand Oaks sits in the Conejo Valley, roughly 40 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, and it consistently earns recognition as one of the safest and most livable cities in California. The city is suburban in feel but far from isolated — you have direct access to the 101 freeway, local commutes that average well under 20 minutes, and easy reach to Pacific Coast beaches in Malibu and Oxnard. The surrounding landscape includes more than 15,000 acres of protected open space and over 150 miles of maintained trails, putting genuine outdoor recreation within arm's reach rather than a long drive away.
The community holds a strong reputation for top-rated public schools, low crime rates, and a family-oriented atmosphere that retains residents for decades. The Conejo Valley Unified School District draws consistent high marks statewide. Dining, retail, and cultural options are well-developed without the congestion of urban density. The climate runs mild year-round — warm, dry summers and cool winters with minimal rainfall — which makes the outdoor lifestyle sustainable in every season, not just a few months. For a healthcare professional weighing a relocation, Thousand Oaks offers a rare combination: a serious clinical market and a city that people actually choose to stay in long-term.
