The Opportunity
This is a permanent, staff-level CVOR RN opportunity inside a full-service cardiovascular program in the Sanford, Florida area. The program runs the full spectrum — open-heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation — and carries a Level II Trauma designation. If cardiovascular is your specialty, this role puts you at the center of a high-acuity surgical environment built around that depth of practice.
The schedule is five 8-hour day shifts per week, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with rotating weekend coverage. The team runs 10 to 15 open-heart cases monthly; on lower-volume days, staff cross-utilize in the general OR — keeping the caseload consistent and the skill set broad. One opening is currently available.
The benefits package is substantial: comprehensive medical coverage with many common services at no cost, dental, vision, a 401(k) with 100% employer match on up to 9% of pay, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, tuition assistance, paid time off, and paid family leave. On-call compensation includes a flat hourly rate during standby and time-and-a-half when activated. Relocation assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis. Pay is competitive based on experience.
Candidates must hold a current Florida RN license, or a valid multi-state compact license with Florida licensure obtained within 60 days of relocation. BLS is required within 30 days of hire; ACLS within 6 months. A minimum of one year of recent acute care OR or CVOR RN experience is required. On-call commitment runs 10 to 15 times per month, and candidates must be within 30 minutes of the facility.

The Package
Why Sanford?
Sanford, Florida sits on the southern shore of Lake Monroe, roughly 25 miles north of Orlando, and it carries a character the larger metro simply does not. The historic downtown has been steadily built back up — walkable blocks lined with independent restaurants, craft breweries, rooftop bars, and live music venues, all steps from the waterfront. The Riverwalk hugs the lakeshore for miles, connecting cyclists, joggers, and boaters to an outdoor scene that genuinely earns its reputation. Water access here is not a backdrop — it is part of daily life, with fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding available year-round under a climate that rarely keeps you indoors.
Families relocating to the area consistently point to Seminole County as a decisive factor. The school district ranks among the top-performing in the state, and the cost of living compares favorably to the Orlando core without the congestion or the noise. The neighborhoods offer space, quiet, and community — hard to find this close to a major metro. Florida carries no state income tax, which delivers a real financial benefit to anyone arriving from a higher-tax state. Interstate 4 puts the broader Orlando region within easy reach, and Sanford's own international airport offers nonstop service to dozens of destinations. This is a city where the quality of life stands on its own.
