What they need
An active RN license in the state of practice is required, along with a strong foundation in surgical services leadership. Candidates must bring at least two years of progressive hospital management experience at the manager or director level, plus a minimum of three years of hands-on OR experience in an acute care hospital setting. A bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related healthcare field is required, while a master’s degree is preferred. Proven communication skills, operational expertise, and the ability to lead multiple units while supporting clinical competency, staffing effectiveness, and resource management are essential.
